RESIDENT SHAREHOLDERS
Introduction
The Resident Shareholders Membership gives all young people who receive a service from Forum Housing Association the opportunity to be actively involved in ‘Actions that Influence change’ and profiling Forum Housing Association at local, regional, national and international events. |

The Association’s commitment with Shareholders is to hold ourselves to account through an Association Resident ‘Local Offer’ and an annual Impact Assessment that measures the level of impact, value for money and satisfaction received by residents.
What does this mean?
Shareholders take on a ‘share’ in the Association, this means that they have a greater say, more involvement and can help make the day to day decisions that are necessary to keep the Association vibrant and at the forefront of service delivery. They become agreed owners in the Association’s business, but not in the Associations financial obligations..
Shareholders can continue in the role, even if they move on, as long as individuals agree to continue to act within the Associations legal framework, and follow the Associations culture and DNA. This also requires Shareholders to not be in any financial debt with the Association.
FUNCTIONS
Actions that Influence change
Any service, policy and procedure, or decision that directly impacts the residents of Forum, will involve Resident Shareholder Members. Shareholders are asked to contribute their knowledge and skills, by undertaking such things as SWOT assessments – Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. You may be involved in consultation, attending meetings and campaigning for the Association from time to time.
The commitment is as little or as much as you like. We ask everyone if they can make a commitment to the panel meeting once a month. We ask that you get involved if opportunities come up.
The bonus to this is if you get involved and have fun we can offer you a CRB after 3 months, this gives you greater opportunity to get involved.
You also get to do work experience (this is not volunteering). It is a chance for you to have first hand insight and experience into the different job tasks carried out in Forum by some of its senior staff.
